Love Your Spouse Challenge

Hello February- the month of love!
I hear a lot about how Valentine's day is a stupid, made up holiday, blah, blah, blah. I also hear "you should show love more than just on one day.” Sure, I agree. So this post is dedicated to all the little ways you can show your spouse love this month. I came up with these based around the 5 Love Languages. If you haven't read the book or taken the quiz, you should! But since everybody is a little of everything, this list mimics that. (Physical Touch, Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, and Gifts) There is one task for each day, but the numbers don't automatically mean they have to be done that day of the month! Sprinkle them into your days in a way that makes sense for you. Some take longer, some take no extra time, just some extra intentionality. Which just so happens to be my word of the year. :)

Without further ado, the list!
(Print this & check them off!)

1. Bake their favorite treat.
2. Complete an act of service they often ask for. (Foot rub anyone?)
3. Pack their lunch for them.
4. Make praying for them more intentional.
5. Write them a note on a sticky somewhere in your home.
6. Let them chill. (Let them Decompress guilt free!)
7. Play their favorite game together. (even if it’s a video game)
8. Really listen- use active listening skills so they feel heard!
9. Smile a few extra times.
10. Find a natural time to tell them you’re proud of them.
11. Pick them up a random gift!
12. Make more of an effort to say thank you for what they do for your family.
13. Bring them their favorite candy/treat.
14. Make a special dinner.
15. Watch a movie together- let them pick it.
16. Pack a love note in their lunch.
17. Make their coffee for them.
18. Check in on how work is going.
19. Clean or fix something that’s been bothering them around the house.
20. Tell them something you appreciate. “I love how...”
21. Participate in their favorite hobby. Let them teach you if you’re clueless.
22. Give a few extra hugs.
23. Share a favorite memory with them.
24. Spend some quality time together. (Off your phone!)
25. Make a meal together or go to their favorite restaurant.
26. Compliment something about their appearance.
27. Up the number of “random affection” you give throughout the day.
28. Plan some future date or time together.
29. Pick up something they need (a new work shirt, a new toothpaste flavor, etc)

(29 because Happy Leap Day! Haha)
xoxo, Love.Haight
