September Favorites

September has been a very interesting month to say the least! Adjusting to the mom of two life has been a challenge, especially with a sad, fussy baby. Nonetheless, there have been some good moments too, and I want to share some favorite things from September!!

1. Loft Clothing

I have never purchased clothes from Loft before, but a blogger I follow was doing a try on haul, and I found myself gravitating toward the beautiful fabrics, pretty prints, and the draw of those two words: “functional buttons.” (If you are, or have ever been, a nursing mama you know what I mean!)
The blogger was a size 0 (go figure) but I bought two of the pieces she tried on and they actually looked just as cute on a size 12 (me 😋) as they did on her!
I’ll link what I got below! GREAT NEWS - they have a 50 percent off sale going on with the code OMG, and they have FREE SHIPPING on all orders. PLUS get 8 percent cash back sent to you in a check using Rakuten! Sign up HERE.

2. Books

This book actually comes out today!! I read it early on NetGalley (absolutely love that site!) and need to review it. This is a companion novel to The Tatooist of Auscwitz (which I’ve also read) and I definitely liked this one a bit better. This is based on a true story, which is totally going to break your heart, but most of the day to day events are fictionalized. Cilka, a Jewish girl, was in the concentration camps. Survive or die was her constant refrain, and she chose to survive. While at the camp she was forced into being a prostitute of sorts for the enemy (this is not a spoiler, we knew this from her first novel) at the end of the camps, she is deemed to have collaborated with the enemy by sleeping with them (ahem being raped is more apt) and is sent to a labor camp in Siberia. Unfair. That is mostly where this story takes off. It’s a story of resiliency, friendship, family, love, forgiveness... everything you would expect. But it’s also unexpected in that I just never knew what would happen next. Highly recommend this- it’s an extension of the holocaust WW2 historical story that I didn’t know.

This book was really interesting. Between the Alaskan wilderness, bizarre family dynamics, interesting characters, and a twisty plot, this one is sure to suck you in. It's hard to tell you much without giving away anything, but if you enjoy character driven books you will most likely enjoy this one. It is a GREAT book for a book club, and my book club is actually discussing this one later this month. I can't wait!

3. Marilyn Monroe Comfort Bras

WHERE HAVE THESE BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE?! If you like a bra with support that is 100 percent comfortable, I can't recommend these enough. I think they can be found at stores like TJ MAxx and Marshals, but I found mine at Big Lots in a two pack for $11. Since it was their 20 percent off weekend, they ended up being 8.40 for two bras. It was an impulse purchase and I couldn't be happier. I have a big chest and frankly it can just be uncomfortable. But in these, the heaviness was just taken away. I cannot say enough good things about these. ALL THE HEART EYES. I bought the largest size they had just for comforts sake, but could definitely go down in size. This photo only shows one of the two pack, because I had already put one on and then decided I had to tell the world!

4. Tresemme's Between Washes Curl Revive

Fellow curly haired gals rejoice. Our "dry shampoo" is actually wet, and makes your curls less frizzy and more tamed on a day or two without being washed. I'm a new mom of 2. Showering is a luxury, let's not kid ourselves. Get it here!
