Anyway, so she's decided to do a "true beauty campaign" and photograph as many brave souls as she can to take portraits without makeup. At first, I was like, "easy!" I don't even wear makeup anymore! (Poor hubby, I've let myself go.) But then we took the photographs and I remember feeling a little self conscious. I started thinking about my uneven skin tone and the way eyes without mascara don't pop.
Silly. It's people like me who are the reason we need a campaign like this!
She was the most amazing person to be photographed by. She made me laugh, helped me feel confident and always had a sweet compliment on her lips. She truly believes in this campaign and it came through during the photo shoot. My heart beat like crazy when I saw she had tagged me in a Facebook post, and I knew the moment had come. I opened it up to these.
Big smile. :)
So... What makes me truly beautiful? This was what I said in my interview.
“What makes me beautiful is my faith in Christ, a faith that gives me hope and allows me to walk with my head held high even when the world knocks me down; a faith that helps me to turn the other cheek and love and forgive my neighbor as Christ has forgiven me. One of my favorite verses comes from Proverbs: 'Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.' Lastly, I feel truly beautiful when my husband looks at me with love in his eyes.
It's the best feeling in the world.”
Dyann's vision for this project can be summed up with this:
That's her! - Stunner. It's brilliant really. In this day and age, we are all so judgmental of each other and ourselves. It's time to take the pledge!
So ladies... love yourself, love each other. Let's all be truly beautiful~ especially on the inside!
xoxo,
Victoria
