The Lil' Pink House

The mission of "The Lil' Pink House" is simple; to make women feel fabulous. And that is exactly how I felt when I put on this hot pink dress. It made me feel like Barbie, and I kind of loved it!! Guys, I wear black. Nearly every day. So this was a departure from the norm... and I felt great. I stepped out of the car to photograph this, and my sweet friend went, "Wow!" or something to that effect!

I almost get a Grecian vibe the way the skirt falls in front with the high empire waist. It is just gorgeous! I love the double strap as well. It adds an unexpected element!

I tied the bow in the back, but it can very easily be tied in the front as well!

I paired the dress with my blush/nude Jeffrey Campbell wedges and a rose gold bag. The pesky wind caught the skirt of the dress in the photos above and below!

This color though! Its just as amazing, or more so, in person!

Sorry this one was a bit blurry, but it was one of my favorite shots!

Below is a Question and Answer Session with Krissy, the owner of The Lil' Pink House!

What made you decide to open a clothing boutique?
Basically, over the last year my life has gone through many changes! I left my job as a teacher and moved 300 miles to reunite with my family. I realized education wasn’t really for me and I needed a new adventure in a new place! I always enjoyed, fashion, clothes and online shopping! I also love the culture that comes along with it. There is a community of fashionable self-made mogul women taking over the internet, and it is fantastic!! For someone who never dreamed of opening their own business, it is truly inspirational. I guess I just want to get a small taste of it for myself! I still work full time in a small business and this has been a side venture, but I sincerely hope it turns into something more. I LOVE making people feel beautiful! Even if that is through looking good in an adorable dress or sending a simple compliment or ‘Thank you’.

What is the story behind the name "The Lil' Pink House"?
Honestly, when I decided to go through with opening up the online shop I was so stumped on a name! One thing I knew is I wanted to stay away from the word ‘pink’ because I know so many shops have that in their name! I played with so many different ones. I live on some land in Alabama and in the afternoons I would jog around the path or I would read on the patio. And everyday I would pass the little pink house sitting in the corner of our property. My parents live in a very old house but the original house is still on the property and it is tiny and pink! I mean how cool is that? Every day when I passed it I kept saying in my head ‘the little pink house’. It was just too good a name to pass up. I was going through a lot of changes in my life and I guess I’ll always think about that little house when I think about coming home. So I didn’t just choose a girly color and a noun!! Haha! It has a bit of meaning behind it.

What sorts of clothing do you look for to stock the shop? How would you describe the overall style?

I am clearly obsessed with dresses. I feel like it is such a versatile article of clothing that any girl can connect to. So, I started with just dresses. I tried to get many different styles and types to appeal to as many girls as I could. I am from the south and I actually do wear boots to work! So there is a strong southern influence in many of the casual dresses. But I am a born and raised Floridian so a good beach maxi is always a must for me! I guess I just want pieces that people will feel good in. I also want customer input! So I would love to hear in comments, posts or at the site about what dresses YOU would like to see at “The Lil’ Pink House’!

What makes your shop unique?

I think what makes my shop unique is my end goal. The mission and goal of “The Lil’ Pink House’ is to spread positivity one dress at a time! You can read in my mission statement on the site that this is really about making women happy. I have a full time job and I didn’t do this to make money. I did this because I wanted to do something that made my heart feel good. Like when I saw that light go on with a student. I am getting that satisfaction, just in a different way. When you look good, you feel good! And when you love and believe in yourself (and have a cute dress) you can make all your dreams come true!

Tell us one fun fact about you- the owner! :)

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Mickey/Minnie Mouse and Disney World! I am a Disney movie nerd, and the thing I miss the most about Florida is being able to go to Disney more often.

    1. I just went to your blog and commented asking if you quit!! Apparently I don't check my comments here (because I literally never get any!!) but that makes me so sad!! Instagram isn't very responsive as far as I've heard. That is scary! Makes me want to go change my password to something harder! So anyway there is one page that for sure got deleted and then they were able to get it back. It's a blog called "the Salted Sisters" from Utah. They seem really sweet!! Their email according to Instagram is saltedsisters@gmail.com Maybe they can tell you how they did it. Because I've only been blogging 2 months I know exactly how hard you work for every follower.
